Your Photo Session
My photographs express your inner essence and capture the magic of the moment at its most expressive. I am a different kind of photographer. Step into a world of striking, professional portrait photography, excellent service and exquisite ways to display your photographs.
A photo session with me is not a formal and intimidating occasion. I will take the time to get to know you. I will gently guide and encourage you to open your soul to the camera, discovering the individual that you are in the relaxed atmosphere of my informal studio or in a location of your choice. Forget stayed poses and outdated setups.
When you come to me for a photo session you are safe in the knowledge that you have chosen a photographer, who is known for his portraiture and whose work has been exhibited and published internationally and featured on radio and national television.
How it works
Once you have decided that you want to book a photo session with me, contact me to arrange a date and time. At this stage I will ask for a modest deposit to guarantee your date. I will also ask you to e-mail me a recent snapshot - not a must but it does help me to prepare.
The photo session will take place at my studio or in a location of your choice, e.g. your home or other favourite spot, indoors or out.
I plan every photo session individually and no two commissions are ever the same. After all, there is only one you. Before your photo session, we will discuss clothes and other details. This is the time to tell me about any ideas that you may have.
When you arrive for your photo session, if you come by car, there is ample, free off-street parking at the studio. Before we begin, we will have a chat over tea or coffee to get to know each other. A portrait session lasts between around an hour and two (shorter for the little ones). This is enough time for multiple clothes changes and different setups to create a varied range of images. If we need a bit longer, don’t worry. I normally only accept one booking per day so that time never becomes an issue.
You can bring any clothes, accessories and props to your photo session. Pets are welcome on all location sessions. Outdoor shots can be part of any session, including studio sessions.
After your photo session
Within a few days of your photo session, your photographs will be ready for viewing.
Traditional viewing session
The viewing session can take place either at my studio or I can come to you if you prefer. There is no sales pressure and no minimum order. A ten percent discount is given on all orders placed during your viewing session.
For clients, who prefer to select their images in their own time, I also offer an alternative to the traditional viewing session in the form of online proofs on your private, password-protected gallery on my website. This will dispense with the hassle of having to come back for the viewing session or having me come to your place. You need to balance the convenience of this option against the loss of my personal advice at the time of selection. The fee for this service should be regarded as a deposit rather than an expense because it is refundable against orders to an equal amount.
This is also the time when you select how you want your photographs presented, e.g. as framed prints, prints without framing or in a photobook, etc. Please refer to my price list to see the options.
