When the Bromham quarry proposals became first known to residents less than two months ago, I started a photography project documenting “the destruction of a village”. I have now published some of this work in my book “I Object”.
When we had finished, my model said “I was buzzing after the shoot and feel very content having now fulfilled my vampire fantasy!” and I put her back in her coffin. There are of course no vampires in real life but I still feel a bit drained and people comment on how pale I look.
When I mentioned David Cameron’s concept of “wealth creators” in a recent blog post about the Bromham quarry proposals, I knew that something felt wrong but I could not put my finger on it. Now I know.
Latest instalment of my photography project, documenting residents resisting the destruction of their village and voicing their objections to the Bromham quarry proposals.
A perfect Indian Summer. Blue skies, 17º C mid-afternoon. Not quite summer anymore and not yet autumn. If the quarry plans in Bromham go ahead, this could be the last Indian Summer.
