Happy Saturnalia from Wolf Kettler Photographer

At the beginning of December, Nikolaus and Krampus visit if you are privileged enough to live in one of the countries that is on their tour schedule. Edging closer to the shortest day and the longest night of the year we celebrate the winter solstice, then Christmas and, finally, the last day of the outgoing year with all the hopes that we have for the infantile new year. All those winter celebrations have one aim in common: To defeat the dark time of the year. And today is the beginning of Saturnalia.

In Totnes, Devon, a homeless man dies in his sleep – in an alleyway. Are we all to blame? You know, all of us, you and me? And why, suddenly, we realise that the chancellor, George Osborne, is a time lord.

A review of the Think Tank Urban Disguise 40 v 2.0 camera bag by professional photographer Wolf Kettler.

It may just be me but I rather suspect that a strange condition befalls the majority of photographers: At the sight of a camera bag, we instantly switch to a mode, in which we are utterly incapable of estimating sizes, volumes and weight. In my case, I want my camera luggage to be bigger on the inside than out and I want the packed bag to weigh less than the total of the items that live therein. And you know what? I might have actually found the solution.

Continuing with my culinary posts, here is a recipe for an exotic dessert, which tastes delicious, takes only minutes to prepare and appears much more impressive than it actually is: A semifreddo with mango chutney, Kashmiri chilli and honey. I can only say spice up your summer evenings and look like a culinary god(des).
