After this morning’s gloom, there are patches of blue sky over the studio.

After this morning’s gloom there are patches of blue sky over the studio. In the sunlight, the raindrops clinging onto leaves and petals look like mysterious, precious stones that were left behind by fairies.

We also learned that the country is in a double-dip recession. Well done, Mr Osborne. Austerity reminds me of an old hospital joke, which runs something like “operation a success, patient dead”.

Oh, and if I understood the Met Office correctly, the recent rain was the wrong type of rain. Just as we get the wrong type of snow and the wrong type of leaves.

No, wait, the patches of blue sky and the rays of sunshine have disappeared again. Ah well, double dip.
