Fashion colour trends Spring/Summer 2012

Twice every year I compile the fashion colour trends from some of the most authoritative industry sources – and here it is again: The fashion colours trend report for the spring/summer 2012 season.
Last summer was a non-event – I called it “the summer that never was” – and even the somewhat muted colours expressed the idea of a summer of austerity. One year on and the governments and bankers are still busy trying to prevent an economic recovery by drowning everyone in yet more austerity, whilst insurance companies, train operators and yes, water companies, up their prices as if anyone could afford to support their corporate greed.
This season’s fashion colours are more powerful. Perhaps it is a good omen that they should carry flamboyant names, such as Tangerine Tango, Solar Power, Cockatoo and Cinnabar.
