Wolf Kettler Photographer - Bespoke Portrait Photography. New website released.

I have today published the new version of my website. This latest edition has been designed with the information requirements of potential clients in mind. The website guides visitors from my photography portfolio (examples of my work) to services and products I offer and the “let’s talk” contact page.

I create bespoke portrait photography and intimate, tasteful nude portraits. I also accept commissions for wedding photography, Internet profiles, and corporate and editorial portraiture. Private clients account for about 80% of my business and of those private clients, nearly half ask me to create lingerie and/or nude portraits.

All sections of my website have been revised, updated and streamlined. The photography portfolio, too, has been updated to show examples of my latest work. I am now using the superb SlideShowPro plugin for Adobe Lightroom, which will make updating the portfolio much easier in the future.

Additional, self-commissioned work will be moved to the new Photographer Blog (this blog that you are reading), which will also host inside information and writings on photography. I have also moved the extensive questions and answers pages from the main part of my website to the blog.

With the new website comes a new price list. Pricing photography is always difficult. Particularly for private client work, there are no established pricing structures or rates, and offers from different photographers are very difficult to compare.

In recent months, calling your price list “investment” has become popular. The idea probably originates in the US. I have decided to stick with price list because in this context, investment sounds somewhat pompous. When my clients commission me, they want photographs. It is not a decision, which would impact on the next twenty years of their lives.

Contrary to other countries, such as Austria, Germany and the US, in Britain packages are popular because they come with an all-inclusive price tag. They are also inflexible and do not allow the client to choose a combination of different print sizes within a given overall price.

My new photography price list for private clients offers an innovative and flexible mash-it pricing structure on selected packages, which aims to avoid locking into inflexible packages.
