Regular readers of my blog will already know that I like shoes. The devastating news earlier this year was that my favourite shoe shop, Geoffrey Bailey Shoes of Wantage, is due to close for good at the end of September. This is extremely sad news because even finding a traditional cobbler, who would mend a pair of shoes properly, has become a formidable task. I refuse to take my shoes to a heel bar, where they do unmentionable things with unimaginable cruelty.
When I visited Geoffrey Bailey’s the other day, I came away with a pair of the most beautiful Loake shoes, which presented an ideal excuse to indulge in a spot of product photography.
