In a photographer most events – the momentous and the trivial – induce the urge to document and interpret what is happening. When Kay casually mentioned that she was planning to take honey from her bees, my brain switched to autopilot and made me ask “photo opportunity?” before I could consider the implications properly. Kay said “yes, sure, the bees won’t mind”.
Yesterday in my garden, I had cut the grass and was playing with my camera. As I was focussing on a freshly installed pot plant, I noticed a shadow in the corner of my eye. Not expecting any movement so close, I nearly jumped out of my skin but all was good. The visitor was “my” pheasant, the very friendly one, the one, who allows me to hand-feed him.
