A frosty morning, mist and the sun rising reluctantly. The photographs that I made this morning seem a fitting tribute to nature in the infantile new year.
A sudden and heavy snowfall in mid December. A pretty but brief spectacle. The temperatures too high for the snow to consider settling. Domino, one member of my feline quartet, enjoyed the display from the comfort and warmth of a window sill.
The full moon in December is called Cold Moon. This photograph captures the magic moment when the moon was rising above the brow of the hill, which nestles into the tranquil English countryside.
The dusting of fresh snow has half thawed and then refrozen overnight. Yesterday’s pristine snow crystals are now an off-white colour with a shabby, gel-like glaze.
