The anarchist

Wolf | April 18th, 2012 - 15:54

It seems that Helen is having a lot of fun being photographed. Photograph by Wolf Kettler.

“I really hate having my picture taken”, said Helen, the owner of the most beautiful of shoe shops, Geoffrey Bailey Shoes in Wantage, Oxfordshire (England).

“Oh really?”, I replied in my most sympathetic voice and aimed my camera at her. I am an anarchist with my camera, ungoverned by any such objections. The aim is not to let too many people escape with their resistance intact. In any case, I do not take pictures – I make photographs.

The resulting photograph, one in my on-going series of unplanned portraits, seems to prove that you can have fun being photographed even if you thought that you hated it.
