The companies on my approved list are my regular, preferred suppliers of photographic equipment, materials and services. Most of them will deal with both, professional and amateur photographers.

Also in this list, my preferred computer equipment suppliers.

aaduki – Specialist insurance service to photographers and video makers. Competitive rates. Cover is more extensive than with most of their competitors.

Budget Batteries – Supply all sorts of batteries, even obscure models. Good prices, fast dispatch.

Calumet – Well known specialist photographic equipment and materials suppliers with a huge range of products from many manufacturers, covering traditional and digital photography and video. Pricing is competitive and most items seem to be in stock.

Cirro Lite – Sell and rent lighting equipment. Suppliers of Kino Flo, Dedolight, Cirro Mist, Matthews, Photoflex, Lighttools, Softsun, Lightning Strikes

Colour Confidence – This is where you go for your colour management and ICC profiling solutions. Everything I ever bought there was in stock.

London Camera Exchange – Even though LCE are best known for dealing in used photographic equipment, I have been buying all my new cameras from LCE since the time before the Internet. They are no longer the cheapest supplier but their prices are still extremely competitive and personal service, which in their case is very good, is priceless. LCE have around thirty branches across the country.

Marrutt – Mainly a supplier of Lyson inks and papers with an Epson trade counter and products from some other manufacturers. Prompt dispatch. Service is excellent, expertise beyond imagination.

Nielsen – One of the important manufacturers of  framing supplies, incl. ready mades. Will supply to professionals and shops directly on an account basis. The quality of their products is excellent, service competent and friendly.

Novatech – Very good choice for components, including some obscure items, which may be difficult to source elsewhere. Ever helpful, friendly and extremely competent staff.

Permajet – Manufacturer and supplier of the stunningly beautiful Permajet FB Royal inkjet paper and a large range of other papers and inks. Nova Darkroom and Nova Digital are part of the same company. Online ordering is efficient.

Silverprint – The country’s prime supplier of traditional photographic materials with a shop in London and online ordering facilities. Also some digital materials, such as inkjet cartridges and papers. Range of materials is amazing, including some items, which are difficult to source elsewhere. Mail (online) order fulfillment is usually reasonably efficient.

Speed Graphic – Full range of photographic materials and equipment, including some specialist and obscure items. Prices are still very attractive and usually reasonably competitive. Many items, however, seem to be no longer available from stock but they still manage to supply out-of-stock items fairly quickly.

Yophoto – Very high quality photobook printing plus a few other products, such as calendars and framing. Friendly, professional service for photographers.
