The curious lack of tourists

People in a café at Pont St. Louis, Paris, France, enjoy a pleasant autumn afternoon. Photograph by Wolf Kettler.

The point, where Pont St. Louis joins Île St. Louis in Paris, France, is home to a very pleasant brasserie and, across the street, a café and another brasserie, no more than five minutes’ walk from Notre Dame. Bizarrely, they are not overrun with tourists, or certainly not the type of tourists that you want to avoid.

The photograph below was made three years after the one at the top in the same location and at the same time of year. I love the cyclist coming towards me, unsure on which side to pass the photographer, and the little dog with the flying ears, who is out for a walk with his humans.
