Example of the early e-mail scam
Later variations follow a very similar pattern.
Initial e-mail
Hi, I represent a 'WOLF KETTLER [or PREMIER] modelling, in london and we have selected one of your image portfolio for Great Universal Catalog advertisment. All we need is your approval,to enable us process your payment,absolutely no commision, no overhead costs, you just get payed for your pictures right away.

If you reply to the above, you will receive something like the following message as a first follow-up (details, amounts and names vary):
Hi, I am Garry Chase from London,Uk and I have a €15.500 pay Fashion job (Assignment) for you. My client wants to update their Catalog with the new year release Fashion outfits and i'm interested in you for the shooting. I am a Model Agent by profession with about 10 years experience. While I was searching through the internet for a super model, i came across your wonderful pictures and profile which fits the exact type of Statistics required for the shoot. That is the main reason why I contacted you. Find all details for the job below.
JOB LOCATION The shooting will be held at a rented photographers studio in your location,so you dont have to worry about travelling,the name and address of the studio will be fowarded to you before the date of the shooting, so all make up will be taken care of in the studio. You can also come along with one or two persons of your choice on the day of the shooting,your mum, dad, friends, body-guard and anybody you wish to come with just for you to feel more comfortable.
JOB DETAILS: You have 12 different Fashion outfits to cover,which would be provided by our client on the day of the shooting,you are to come with your own footwears and any hair colour.
TYPES OF CLOTHES Jeans and Jackets
JOB PERCENTAGE The total pay for the jobs is €15.500 and you get 20% as your wage on your first installmental payment.
EXPECTATIONS You need to have good and attractive postures. So I suggest you start working out/training. Basically this is all that is required of you. Please get intouch with me if you will take the job so that we can start up from there.

If you also reply to the second e-mail, you will receive this third e-mail, or something very similar:
Hi, We quite appreciate your swift response concerning the modelling contract.Our web-site is currently undergoing Upgrade.Your picture has been accepted by the Agency, 'WOLF KETTLER [or PREMIER] modelling'as one of the preferred picture for the Great Universal Catalog.We don't discriminate sizes or shapes of individual models,we just acknowledge gorgeous pictures and use it for commercials.The Financier will airmail payment to you via courier service through their office.
You will receive a check as payment for the Great Universal Catalog.The contract value is €15,500 or its equivalent in your currency.You would receive this in 2 seperate instalments.You will also be sent an agreement Form M20 via email after the first payment is finalised.When you receive the first payment you will take out 20% of the total sum for your gorgeous pictures that is being used, after which you proceed to sending the balance 80% over to your appointed Agent via western union money Transfer for Legal Documentation of the deal.This payment will also be used as "Sign up fee" with the agent. Please note that this will be your first instalment.You will be paid the full balance of the funds after the Legal documentation of the contract has been confirmed by our agent.
