On a commercial shoot, one or several make-up artists are part of the team. Make-up artists are highly skilled professionals who can perform almost any miracle on a face.

There are occasions when the model is expected to do her own make-up: A freelance photographer shooting for stock or working on an a smaller editorial feature may not have a make-up artist at hand. On a prints for time or time for CD (PFT or TFCD) shoot, the model is usually expected to do her own make-up.
