Not only sensitive skin becomes irritated from shaving. Do not splash alcohol (a.k.a. aftershave) on your skin after shaving. It only makes matters worse. If you like the pain, there are better ways.
Instead, use an aftershave balm, which is a cream or, better, gel. It calms your skin after shaving and reduces irritations from shaving.
For scent, use eau de toilette instead of aftershave.
A facial toner is a clear lotion which removes excess oil, reduces shine and tones the skin.
Use a facial toner twice a day. In the morning, use it after shaving on the areas of your face and neck that you have not treated with aftershave balm in the evening, after cleansing.
Soak a cotton pad and wipe over your face and neck.
A moisturiser protects and conditions the skin by replacing lost oils. It is an absolutely indispensable product to keep your skin supple, smooth and young looking.
Use it on your face and neck twice a day after toning.
Hand cream is for your hands what moisturiser is for your face and neck. It keeps your skin supple, smooth and young looking.
Use a hand cream every time after washing your hands. Select a product which is quickly and easily absorbed by your skin and does not feel sticky. I find that products containing glycerine do the best job.
