Contact the Models Guide with your question about modelling
This depends on what the model agrees with the photographer beforehand. You need to observe the photographer's copyright. Selling a photograph to the local newspaper would violate the copyright, as would scanning prints or using digital files for non-agreed uses.
For the rare occasions, when I agree to a for time shoot, this is my policy:
- As long as it is for your own self-promotion, you can use the photographs in any way you like.
- For any published use (Internet and print), a credit for the photographer is required. A credit is a comment that says who the photographer is.
- You may not publish or otherwise use the photographs for any other purpose than your own self-promotion.
- Photographs may not be sold or traded.
Other photographers may have other guidelines but always do ask what will happen to your photographs.
You should be aware some some studios try to sell you the copyright to your photographs so that you "can make money with them". It is a scam to get you to part with more money. All you need is permission to use the photographs for your own self-promotion. Nobody wants to buy your photos - there is no market.
