Healing with the camera

Therapeutic photography means to use photography to confront negative self image and body issues, and to promote inner balance, well-being and harmony.

From my work with people, I know of the positive and stimulating effects, the feel-good factor, of the attention clients receive during a photo session from someone who sees them in an altogether different light and whose work aims at seeing the beauty in everybody, and of seeing the finished photographs.

In all my portrait photography I aim to capture people's inner essence rather than merely a body. I am a holistic photographer, interested in the person inside a body. It is the mind that makes the body beautiful. I believe that everybody can be beautiful if you only look at them the right way.

The use of my portrait and nude portrait photo sessions as therapeutic photography is a natural extension of this philosophy.
