Album Mounting

Some tips for mounting prints in an album:

Do not buy an album with slip-in pages or adhesive clear pages that fold over the prints. The materials used in them will destroy your prints over time. Besides, they look cheap.

Buy a traditional album with acid-free pages and glassine interleaves.

Pages in an album should be a generous amount larger than the paper size of the prints.

Do not use ordinary glue (stick, tube or spray) or adhesive tape. Household and office products are the most efficient way of destroying photographic prints.

Always use acid-free, archival quality glue or mounting corners, available from specialist photographic and art materials retailers.

Use cotton gloves when you handle photographs, to avoid leaving fingerprints and smudges.

I usually keep small stock levels of all these materials - except albums - and can supply them. I can also source a range of traditional albums at attractive prices. Please ask.
